Penny, Nickel and Dime Project for Women in the Congo

Sporty Diva is my pride and joy because I share my passion for fitness, health and wellness for women through various channels.  I truly believe in giving more than I receive and I want to do more to help make this world a better place.  When I learned about how women of the Congo live and are treated, I knew I had to do something and get involved.

On 7.10.10, I began saving my pennies, nickles and dimes on a daily basis.  My goal is to save 324.00 in change  by the end of the year to sponsor a Congolese woman and to serve as a  constant reminder of how blessed I am to live in a country where women are valued, educated and appreciated.

I firmly believe while helping others to improve their lives, we can actually improve ours in the process.  The Congo is the worst place on earth to be a woman.  A sponsorship can change a woman's life because she receives important rights awareness training, job skills training along with health and literacy training.  She will also receive money for food, clothes and schooling.  A support system is provided to help her go from victim to survivor to active citizen.

Sporty Diva will host several signature events to raise awareness and funds to sponsor 3 Conoglese women in 2011.  With your help, we can all make a difference and change the life of one woman at a time.
